A group of megawatt stars band together to create a music video for National Voter Registration Day to encourage underrepresented groups who deserve to have their voices heard this November.

FergieGetsOutVote

Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie is having a very busy week. First, she released a new family wine label, and now she is encouraging women to register to vote. Tuesday was National Voter Registration Day, an event designed to encourage people to participate in the 2012 presidential election. Celebrities like Fergie, Alyssa Milano, Amy Smart, and Vanessa Williams banded together for a new music video to encourage women to have their voices heard on election day, Nov. 6.

The song, "L.O.V.E. ," was co-written by gospel singer Patti Austin, Brenda Russell and two-time Oscar®-nominated songwriter Siedah Garrett, and was sponsored by the nonpartisan group Voter Participation Center.

Page Gardner, president of the nonprofit organization, states, "We felt a music video with incredible star power in recognition of National Voter Registration Day would be an attention-getting way to encourage all eligible Americans to participate in our great democracy. The message is simple:  Get registered, and get to the polls on November 6th. Let the voice of one join the voices of millions and be heard."

The campaign hopes to reach out to groups like unmarried women, young adults in the 18–29 age group, and people of color. These groups are often underrepresented in the democratic process, and they make up 53 percent of the population that is eligible to vote.

The song "L.O.V.E." was performed by its co-writers plus Fergie, Keke Palmer, Sheila E., Judith Hill, Lalah Hathaway, and Jenna Ushkowitz. Other celebrities who make an appearance in the video include Patrick Muldoon, Seth Green, Brandon Routh, Alexa Vega, and Sophia Bush. For more information about the project and to download the video, visit the Voter Participation Center's website.

Alyssa Milano turns the big 4-0!

It seems like only yesterday that Alyssa Milano was starring as Samantha Micelli on Who's the Boss? The actress turns 40 on Wednesday.

AlyssaMilanobirthday

Are you ready to feel old? On Dec. 19 Who's the Boss? star Alyssa Milano is turning 40. The actress who has grown up before television audiences' eyes began acting as a kid in the national tour of the Broadway hit Annie.

In 1984 she turned up in America's living rooms each week as Samantha Micelli, daughter to Tony Micelli, played by the lovable Tony Danza. The series also starred Judith Light and Katherine Helmond and ended in 1992 after an eight-year run.

Since it's a milestone birthday, the baseball-loving star already celebrated last weekend with a surprise party thrown by her husband, David Bugliari. The CAA agent decided to give his wife something she had never experienced before: a prom.

A source told Us Weekly, "It's prom-themed because Alyssa didn't have a prom and hers would have been in 1990s. Everybody dressed up and everyone got a corsage when they walked in."

The big party was held at The London Hotel in West Hollywood, California, where invitees like music star Ludacris and Community star Ken Jeong danced the night away to tunes spun by DJ Vicious-Lee.

The festivities weren't complete without balloons, an archway of decorations and prom portraits to give Milano a true high-school experience.

The attendee also told Us Weekly, "Everyone had a great time! Alyssa was really surprised. She had no clue!"

The Charmed actress will next be seen on TV in the new series Mistresses, debuting on ABC in 2013.

Milano and her husband have been married since August 2009 and they welcomed their first son, Milo, to the world 15 months ago.

Forget Revenge and Scandal, ABC has its sights on another sultry drama. This summer, they'll premiere Mistresses, a primetime soap led by TV vet Alyssa Milano.

Alyssa Milano

Alyssa Milano is returning to television. The actress is heading to ABC with the new series, Mistresses. It's the American adaptation of the popular British drama of the same name.

Today, the actress participated in the Mistresses panel during the 2013 Winter TCA Press Tour. Milano and executive producers Bob Sertner and Rina Mimoun spoke about what sets their show apart.

"Tonally the show is different from the BBC version," Milano revealed. "There's a lightness and a fun to what we try to do that's different."

According to Mimoun, their show really picks up the pace. "We took a lot of what they had and front-loaded our show with that," she said. "We had to run in a whole other direction because we had to make a lot more episodes."

Like most shows that are adapted from overseas, they have to switch it up. If they don't change the format or storyline, it can ruin the experience for viewers. Sertner explained, "We always said from the very beginning a show like this wouldn't be very fun to watch if you could go online and find out where it was heading."

Plot twists and more shockers in Season 2 of Revenge>>

Mistresses centers on four women who are each involved in a "romantic crisis." According to Zap2it, there will be lots of "network-TV-friendly sex," but don't expect Milano to strip down just yet.

Alyssa Milano has her baby boy... finally!>>

"For my scenes mostly the guys are naked," Milano said. "I had just given birth when we shot the pilot. I was still breastfeeding, in between takes every two hours I would go into my dressing room and pump."

The rest of the cast includes Yunjin Kim, Rochelle Aytes and Jes Macallan.
